| Baby ginseng is too young to use but there are many products in sale on the market so people have to check the year first. |
|
Ginseng is separated to three types, fresh raw ginseng, white ginseng, and red ginseng. |
- Fresh ginseng is just a raw ginseng which was just pulled out from ground.
- White ginseng is same as fresh ginseng but dried by air on ambient temperature.
- Red ginseng is specially processed ginseng with only 6 year old ginsengs. The process is steaming and drying with certain temperature and pressure conditions. While this process, 6 year old white ginseng loses some (about 5 or 6 out of 25) saponins and gain more special (about 15) saponins(Ginsenoside) which enhance efficacy with no side effect. Also you can keep it for over ten years.

American Ginseng roots form a spindle haped main root and a rootlet comes out from the rhizome to form another section. Generally the main root is thinner and onger than the Korean Ginseng, however ootlets are not fully developed. Although |
| he subterranean stem is about the same ength as |
Korean Ginseng, its hypertrophy or flesh is not substantial nd the branch length ranges from
3-50 cm. On the average, there re four to five upper compound leaves in the mid-section of he branch made up of five petioles and the petioles are in needle shapes with its sides are serrated
and the end of the leaf is narrow. |
The color of a mature fruit is scarlet and there are one to hree seeds inside the berry. To discern
the Korean Ginseng, orean Ginseng has a smooth texture and easier to chew with its own
unique strong smell. However, American Ginseng doesn't reak apart easily when chewed and
the texture is highly iberous and tastes like raw medicine. |
